Moderate Retouching
Moderate retouching of a photo involves removal of moderate dust, stains and scratches, as well as light tears. Restoration may be had in facial and detailed areas, but not rebuilding. Moderate retouching may also involve adjustment of brightness and contrast values, darkening images that have faded through the years, minor burning and dodging of areas of a photo that are too dark or too light, color adjustment, transforming a sepia-toned photo into a black-and-white or a black-and-white photo into a sepia-tone, removal of minor spots, dust, scratches and stains, resizing, and sharpening of an image.
Moderate retouching does not include rebuilding extensively damaged areas of photos.
Description of example 1
The below photo could not have been considered a minor job as there was a good deal of damage, taking the appearance of splotchiness, in the facial areas of the children and on their arms and also in the clothing. These were fixed, as well as dust, scratches and stains. Adjustments were also made for brightness and contrast. There was also "burning in" of detailed areas in the clothing.
